This weekend the Historic Downtown District of Alameda, California is throwing an all-out spring extravaganza for mom, and the rest of the family.  This Mother’s Day weekend come out to Park Street to indulge in one of the largest and most heavily-attended festivals in all of California.  The Park Street 14^th Annual Spring Festival event will feature on-going entertainment for two consecutive days, sure to please all members of your family.
 
The annual Park Street Festival has become a traditional Mother’s Day weekend event.  With over 150 arts and crafts vendors, it is an ideal place to find that perfect gift for mom.  Or, perhaps mom would prefer to pick it out herself. After having shopped the merchants, be sure to visit the kid’s area where there will be games, activities, face painting, a rock climbing wall, and more.  Once your children have tuckered themselves out treat yourself to a variety of festival foods and beverages.  And, be sure to visit the craft beer tents where an array of craft ales will be available for sale, and tastings.  Live music will fill the air, as over 12 of the area’s most popular groups will be performing live.  Classic rock, bluegrass, funk, and soul are all on the agenda.  It is highly advised that you do not forget to “Shop Park Street”.  The stores that consume the historic downtown shopping district will be offering deep discounts, along with special promotions.
